Shadows in the Sand Delay

Hey everyone,

Just to update so no one thinks I’m dead, I’m in the midst of Final’s week and I leave the UK in 6 days so I’m a little bit stressed. Also, to top it all off I’m sick (-﹏-。) Another cold
It’s around that time of the year where my body shuts down a few times, so I’m pretty gross looking right now and tired a lot. I hope you’ll understand the delays. I’ll try to have the chapter up soon, but just in case, I wanted to keep those who follow this updated.

Break over – Time to get back to Sands

14364893_1327605817252029_7887952529469381452_nJust an update! Hello everyone (if anyone reads this thing) I’m back! I’ve officially settled in the UK, started my classes, and began life abroad. I spent about a month prior to my classes traveling, though the first week I arrived in the UK I had become extremely ill and was out of commission until I recovered. I’m pretty sure it was because my body was not used to traveling for so long in a plane.

Since I’ve arrived, I have seen Rome, Naples, Venice, and the city of Pompeii. These were separate excursions I’d planned for a long time, and if anyone is interested in hearing more regarding the trip, I would LOVE to share it on this blog. I might even write a few posts regarding my travels in the future, so if you’re into that sorta thing, stay tuned! I plan to go skiing in Switzerland during the winter months, and to go to Paris and Poland in the next few months on weekends.

Anyways, regarding Shadows in the Sand, I’ve started on the next chapter and it should be out within the next week. wp-1471369732849.jpg

I hope you guys didn’t mind the wait. I just solely wanted to focus on seeing these new sights and taking in the culture, so I stayed away from my computer for a while.

(The picture on the right is the levitating Sasuke scene from Chapter 8. Theatrical Placenta ALSO drew this for me while I was snickering while writing it. I look at it when I feel disheartened. The chaos gives me strength. lolol)

About a month left until I leave the country…

I’m going to be studying abroad in the UK, and the anticipation is killing me. I keep concocting all these crazy scenarios in my head that I know will never happen, like what if I get in the wrong cab and end up like that one girl in the movie Taken? What if I find out I’m the distant, distant, distant, distant, distant, twice-removed heir to some royal throne?

What if I go to the countryside in France, or the beaches of Italy, and end up meeting some cheerful, seven year old kid named Naru, that shows me how fun life is and helps re-establish my love for calligraphy after I punched an old man in the face?tumblr_nbkg99k44S1txrzruo1_500.gif
(Okay, that’s definitely not happening.)

But my mind’s running wild, honestly. It’s hard to pay attention these days to anything other than writing, since I’ve been daydreaming non-stop. I have two jobs, one at an Aquarium and the other at the University I go to, and both have been victimized by my air headed mannerisms and my head being stuck way, way up in the clouds. It’s often hard to reign myself back in, because traveling and seeing the world is what I’ve been dreaming about since I was a kid.

For me, money and fame doesn’t mean that much to me. Material possessions have never appealed to me either. If I could have anything, just traveling and broadening my horizons would be my ideal. I feel like I would be content for seemingly forever if I was able to get out there and see the majesties of this world, yanno? There’s just so much, and most of us get to see so little. Many of us die stuck in one place, and that’s always, always bothered me. I used to get anxiety as a little kid thinking about that, strangely enough.

While I’m abroad I hope to backpack across Europe and see as much as I can. I decided to spend an extra month there, even after school ends, to just see the sights.

Hopefully, maybe I can use some of my experiences in future fics!

Have any of you been out of the country? Ahh… the possibilities are making me excited again. My leg is bouncing.

My birthday

-On a random note, my birthday was awesome!!! It was on the 24th of June, and in spite of it being small and quiet, it was very, very nice. I got a new laptop since the one I used to write on was complete crap. A total and utter hell hole of a computer that would freeze after five syllables… talk about frustrating…

I hung out with my best friend Gigi, went out for a lovely lunch with my family, and just melted into the couch with cake…. ahh… bliss.

And then, yesterday, I received a late birthday present from my other friend, Em. I present to you… god.

Her tumblr username and deviant art name is TheatricalPlacenta. Please tell me this isn’t the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. Also I love how they put a shirt underneath them so Naruto wouldn’t chafe his dick on all that sand.

Fourth of July plans/Sands Update

I’m trying to write like crazy because for the first time ever I’m going to actually have legitimate fourth of July week plans. (Much wow.) Plans that don’t involve me sitting on my ass all day watching television. This is crazy.

My best friends and I were invited by our other best friend to come to Florida and celebrate with her family in Cocoa Beach. Our airfare was paid for by her family as well (which still blows our minds) so we’re heading over to Florida on July 3rd where we will be relaxing and soaking in the sun until the 11th!! Really hyped!

I know during that time I will probably be doing 0 writing on Sands, and absolutely no writing on the Fallen for Ramen rewrite, so I’m planning to use today as a day to just go at both of them. A few people are aware of it, but I actually decided to make the rewrite and I’ll be posting it on Ao3 soon!! Super excited!!!

Still though, above all, my main priority is Shadows in the Sand. To be honest, Shadows in the Sand is one of the most enjoyable things I’ve ever written. It’s very soothing for me, as writing should be, whereas Fallen for Ramen makes me feel sort of pressured, haha. I supposed Sands is just a combination of everything I’ve always aspired to write: adventure, romance, mystery, fucking Egypt.

I’m a total slut for mummies and curses and crazy scenarios, so this is bliss for me. Plus, unlike Fallen for Ramen, I have everything outlined and planned from start to finish, so no chance of plot holes. VERY relaxing.

Anyways, I hope to have it done before I leave on the third, but if not, it should be finished when I get back!!!
