I’M GOING TO EGYPT!

YEAH.

YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY.

I’M GOING TO EGYPT IN TWO WEEKS!

Excuse me while I just go into a corner and scream my head off. This is HUGE. My two best friends recently had the opportunity to go see Cairo, and after we got to talking, we decided to meet there and share a hotel together! We’ll be traveling to the pyramids on a camel like a distinguished adventurer, and I’ll be lead around on this tour by a REAL archaeologist. We’re also going to see the Sphinx as well as The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities (NEJI, WATCH OUT.)tumblr_mrr0h9ddye1rag6z6o1_500
I. Can’t. Wait.

I’m confident that this will help Shadows in the Sand TREMENDOUSLY, and I am SO excited to be able to see the place that I’m writing about IN THE FLESH.
Now someone hand me my fedora and bullwhip, please.

New Chapter in six days & a brief PSA (Important)

Releasing a new chapter early! I’m more hyped than ever to write for this fic, so I’m pretty excited to dish out the things I’ve planned.

I’d like to briefly take this time to make something clear, though: as you all may or may not know, I am a writer, not an archaeologist.

That’s a no brainer, right? But I feel the need to emphasize it. I strive for components of realism  in the things that I write, especially when it pertains to a certain culture, because it makes things more fun to read. I cannot, however, always guarantee that I will not slip up. Ultimately, this is a creative work of fiction. Mummies do not come to life in our day to day world, people do not levitate, Awrutshimaru was not an Egyptian pharaoh, and the Museum of Antiquities in Cairo (while real) is not owned by Neji Hyuga or Hinata Hyuga.

This creative fanfic of mine is simply just that, a fanfic, and I can ensure that their will be points where some historical facts may stray, and certain villages or aspects of ancient civilization may be made up for my nefarious purposes. I research and read, very heavily, to make this kind of thing an enjoyable experience, despite having known close to nothing when I first thought of this idea.

Albeit their are several libraries and book stores at my disposal, as well as the internet, I cannot guarantee that I will always be right in my depictions of the streets of Cairo, or the homes in Waset, because I have not been there personally, and I can only rely on books (some of which, admittedly, are dry and hard to swallow.) So, forgive me guys, if Kiba works mainly with dogs in Asafra when those who live in Egypt are more favorable towards cats, and forgive me for any future inaccuracies. I hope you will take this read as something to simply enjoy, and not examine too thoroughly or use as a critique of my lack of extensive knowledge in Egyptology.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
