I get a lot of messages about Fallen. Oh god I do. Insert vicious sweating.
It was the first fanfic for Sasunaru I ever wrote. In fact, it was the first fanfic I ever published, but I haven’t updated in over two years. Here’s why:

Lack of motivation had some role in never finishing Fallen, but the biggest mistake was that I was new.
New? That’s no excuse, hun.
Well ya see, I mean new at writing fanfic, new at plotting, and new at consistency. In all my newness, and all my eagerness to publish a story for a fandom I loved, it resulted in me publishing a story whimsically without any obvious direction.
Not to say that I didn’t have some clue on what I wanted the story to be about and where I wanted it to go. However, when you’re shelling out chapters like I did without any real outline or planning, you eventually back yourself into a corner. Hell, at some point, I was so busy trying to write myself out of the plot holes I created that I forgot what the friggity frack I was even doing.
Why does Tsunade have Jiraiya’s necklace? Why didn’t she look for Naruto? What is Orochimaru’s goal? Why did Sasuke let Naruto paint his office orange? Why in the hell is their a rinky-dink ramen shop in downtown Tokyo? And for that matter, what created the rift between them without it being too cliche or cheesy?
I forgot the purpose. At some point, I forgot the characters: and I didn’t want to keep writing the story without knowing exactly what I wanted out of it, because then it would have been pointless. And the last thing I’d want to do is give people a pointless story.
So you see…
I stopped…
For now.
But I am confident that once I finish my current projects, I will definitely redo and finish Fallen. That is my sworn vow. Hang in there until then, if anyone is still waiting. I’ll seriously try my best.
