Late Update on Shadows in the Sand

Hey everyone!

Despite friends and family telling me: Stop going out so much, you’re burning the candle at both ends, I refused to listen and… I got sick. Cough.
I’m sorry.
sorryMy story, Shadows in the Sand, which is usually updated bi-weekly, is going to be a little bit late. (Probably late Sunday or early Monday). I caught a bad case of strep throat and was unable to get much work done, from school and rallying lately. I think I overworked myself, haha, but it’ll definitely be up soon!

Thanks for your patience, and here’s to recovering quickly to write more awesome adventures!!

New AU ideas

So this is completely full of what if’s but I was thinking maybe it’d be cool to write some stories with the following:
– An AU where Naruto is a television show, and Naruto and Sasuke are actors. They can either be good friends, or absolutely hate eachothers guts off stage. One day one of them practices lines from the show at the others apartment, and things get heated.
An AU which parodies Men in Black. Sasuke and Naruto are partnered up to find aliens and investigate weird happenings throughout the city. Their personalities clash, but they try to make it work.
The abandoned Internet love story I started a year ago and never posted, where Sasuke and Naruto meet via an MMORPG.

I still don’t know which one to pursue after Shadows in the sand. Gah, they all seem fun, but anything seems amazing at 5 in the morning.

Regarding Fallen for Ramen

I get a lot of messages about Fallen. Oh god I do. Insert vicious sweating.

It was the first fanfic for Sasunaru I ever wrote. In fact, it was the first fanfic I ever published, but I haven’t updated in over two years. Here’s why:

Lack of motivation had some role in never finishing Fallen, but the biggest mistake was that I was new.

New? That’s no excuse, hun.

Well ya see, I mean new at writing fanfic, new at plotting, and new at consistency. In all my newness, and all my eagerness to publish a story for a fandom I loved, it resulted in me publishing a story whimsically without any obvious direction.

Not to say that I didn’t have some clue on what I wanted the story to be about and where I wanted it to go. However, when you’re shelling out chapters like I did without any real outline or planning, you eventually back yourself into a corner. Hell, at some point, I was so busy trying to write myself out of the plot holes I created that I forgot what the friggity frack I was even doing.

Why does Tsunade have Jiraiya’s necklace? Why didn’t she look for Naruto? What is Orochimaru’s goal? Why did Sasuke let Naruto paint his office orange? Why in the hell is their a rinky-dink ramen shop in downtown Tokyo? And for that matter, what created the rift between them without it being too cliche or cheesy?

I forgot the purpose. At some point, I forgot the characters: and I didn’t want to keep writing the story without knowing exactly what I wanted out of it, because then it would have been pointless. And the last thing I’d want to do is give people a pointless story.

So you see…

I stopped…

For now.

But I am confident that once I finish my current projects, I will definitely redo and finish Fallen. That is my sworn vow. Hang in there until then, if anyone is still waiting. I’ll seriously try my best.

Look at me

I will never pass… for a perfect bride.
Or a perfect daughter.

Mulan references aside, wow! My good friend Kizukatana encouraged me to start my own wordpress blog so I can post my drabbles, one shots, story ideas etc. But I’m not sure I’ll be even nearly as diligent as her in the long run, haha.

I’ve never ran a blog before, besides my tumblr which nearly always consists of re-blogging gifs of spastic cats, and men pursuing their forbidden desires with each-other in a surge of passion, sooo… We’ll see how this goes. For now, I’ll just write random entries when I’m having an epiphany or feeling silly at four in the morning so when I look back, I can laugh at myself.
